have raised Boer Goats since 1997 which makes us one of the longest
continuous breeders/owners of Boer goats in the industry. Our
first show was the 2000 NC Mountain State Fair. Over the years we
have made some great and lasting friends and re-connected with close
friends from my youth. Breeding Boers is both exhilarating and heartbreaking at the same time. The anticipation of seeing the kids off of breeding a particular Buck to a particular Doe has been one of the things that has kept us in this business. With a few rare exceptions over all the years of showing, we have shown what we have bred and raised which is very rewarding. We have stood at the top of the mountain holding the banners at the end of the show and we have stood at the end of the line. We were blessed to have had the first NC bred and ABGA Ennobled Buck (Boulder's Diamond). He was born, raised, and lived his entire life on our farm. Diamond (we called him Whomper due to his size at birth) was also the Sire of a ABGA National Reserve Champion % Doe. Diamond and his progeny accumulated over 1000 ABGA Show Points. Over the years we have selected for feminine Does that are clean up fronted, display good neck extension and have the feminine wedge that is a sign of fertility. Our mature Does are in production, (their job is to produce kids) ie they are not in globby fat show shape. Our hope is that you can take our genetics and improve upon them. |
